Most DJs spend their entire life in the shadows. No matter how well they control the crowd or dazzle on the decks, they remain anonymous heroes lost in the darkness of the booth. Yet Cipha Sounds is not "most DJs". Whether hosting The HOT 97 Morning Show, DJing and doing stand-up comedy around the world, or producing and hosting his monthly comedy show Don't Get Gassed, Cipha radiates personality, driving every project with his likeable demeanor and confident tastes. Just as comfortable on stage as he is behind the turntables, Cipha has carved out a distinct voice in music and comedy over the past 15 years.
Starting out as a cassette-obsessed Bronx teenager and budding bedroom producer, Cipha got his first break interning for Wildman Steve and DJ Riz of the Flip Squad. His tireless work ethic and perceptive DJ skills earned him opening slots at legendary NYC nightspots like The Tunnel and The Palladium. Soon after that Cipha found himself spinning for Lil Kim, Mos Def, and Jay-Z on national tours, and rocking private parties and album release galas for superstars like P. Diddy, Eminem, and Mariah Carey. Most importantly, Cipha got the chance to share his selections over the airwaves as part of Funkmaster Flex's nightly radio show on HOT 97, where he learned how to break new records, helping turn once-unknowns like Sean Paul, 50 Cent, and Rihanna into superstars, and maintain a healthy sense of humor on the mic.
Cipha's ear for talent and club-honed musical instincts also made him a natural A&R executive, a position he has held with labels ranging from Rawkus and Tommy Boy to the Neptunes' Star Trak imprint with Pharrell Williams, and Roc-A-Fella. In 2003, he took an even bigger leap into the music industry and began hosting Sucker Free and TRL on MTV.
He has also set a goal to take over the Improv comedy world. After being a student at the UCB theatre for over two years, Cipha now has a weekly sold out Hip Hop improv show, where a different Hip Hop celebrity tells a true life story and Cipha and his team perform a completely made up show based on it. Recent guests have included 2 Chainz, Victor Cruz, Swizz Beatz, Schoolboy Q, and Zoe Kravitz.
There is no question about it: Ebro takes hip hop and media seriously! Whether he's going in on the day's events or going at it with fans on social media, Ebro really just wants everyone to love hip hop. After being on-air from 1990-2003 on the West Coast, Ebro was hired by HOT 97 to come to New York City where he worked as Music Director and later Programming Director, and also hosted MTV's Sucker Free Countdown.
Ebro has worked alongside several past HOT 97 morning show co-hosts including Miss Jones, Sway, and Joe Budden from 2004-2007, and introduced Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg to the morning world when they began in the AM drive in 2009. He rejoined The HOT 97 Morning Show in 2012, bringing his wit and love of hip hop back to the airwaves where he keeps the conversation real alongside Cipha Sounds, Peter Rosenberg, and Laura Stylez.
Ebro has been featured in GQ, Rolling Stone, New York Times, Vibe, XXL and more, and has made guests appearances in several television shows including VH1's Love and Hip Hop (New York) in 2013.
For more than a decade, Funkmaster Flex has reigned as America's #1 hip hop radio personality, reaching over 3 million listeners a week on HOT 97. Known worldwide, Flex is one of the biggest trendsetters in hip hop, debuting all of the hottest new songs and latest fashions on HOT 97 and his blog, InFlexWeTrust.com.
In April 2013, Flex launched his latest creation, The DJ Funk Flex App, further solidifying why Flex is so digital and ahead of the game!
Laura Stylez is a woman of both style and grace, combined with a heart full of drive and dedication. With over nine years in the radio industry, the California native is a remarkable force in the New York market - the toughest scene to break into and be heard. Laura joined the The HOT 97 Morning Show in 2013 as a producer and co-host alongside Cipha Sounds, Peter Rosenberg and Ebro.
In addition to her on-air work, Laura has done voice-over work for Grand Theft Auto V, Pepsi, cartoons, and commercials. In the U.S. and internationally she serves as a host at a myriad of nightclubs and has graced numerous red carpets including The Grammy Awards, movie premieres and VH1 shows. Besides being a member of the elite Heavy Hitters DJ crew, the entertaining radio personality has released a limited edition jewelry line, been featured in magazines such as The Source and Latina, and has been a brand ambassador for Hennessy and Xbox.

For almost a decade that he has been on New York's HOT 97, Peter Rosenberg has made an indelible mark on New York radio and the global hip hop landscape. His voice can be heard every weekday morning on The HOT 97 Morning Show and every Sunday night on Real Late With Peter Rosenberg. His persona on both of these shows, characterized by his quirky, honest, and unique spin on hip hop culture and New York life has made him a fixture on the hip hop scene. His passion for everything he covers, whether it's hip hop, sports, professional wrestling, comedy, politics, or entertainment, is undeniable. That passion extends beyond radio - Peter hosted MTV2's Hip Hop Square and has made countless additional appearances on MTV and VH1, plus over 20 million views on YouTube.
After working in radio for 10 years at urban, rock, talk and satellite stations, Peter finally landed a job at his dream station, HOT 97, in the summer of 2007. In addition to his radio shows, Rosenberg hosts a podcast with morning show partner Cipha Sounds called Juan Epstein. Juan Ep as it's referred to by fans, has developed a cult following because of its offbeat sense of humor and irreverent devotion to hip hop.
Peter lives in Manhattan with his wife, Alexa, and their dog, Bear.
