From January to December of this year, Cardi B. has received accolade on accolade, proving that success can happen to those who truly put in the work. From her Love & Hip Hop debut as a former stripper with a huge Instagram following, she has made it in the mainstream and proven she is not just a regular degular girl anymore.

Since introducing Asia's face to her bloody shoe at the season seven reunion, Cardi has since broken a Billboard record with "Bodak Yellow," snagged a couple of Grammy nominations, and even met Beyoncè.

Cardi kicked off 2017 with the release of her mixtape, "Gangsta Bitch Vol. 2" with tracks like "Lick" and "Pull Up" which were signs of what was to come later in the year.

During her second and final season on Love & Hip Hop, Cardi was attempting to win the affections of producer Swift, who was seeing a British beauty named Asia. During their final confrontation at the reunion, Cardi showed Asia just how she felt about her by hurling a heel at her head, yelling, "Don't you know New York bitches is savages?"

Within a week of Carl Chery placing "Bodak Yellow" on Apple Music's "Breaking Hip-Hop Playlist," the song did numbers. It then went on to be featured on the "A-List Hip Hop" playlist eventually landing that number one spot within two months. This made Cardi the first female rapper to chart number one with no features since Queen Lauryn Hill.
