50 Cent Announces He's Broke AF And Twitter Thinks It's Hilarious
50 Cent has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which makes zero cents, considering he was estimated to be worth $155 million just two months ago.
50 recently had to pay up $5 million to Lastonia Leviston, Rick Ross' baby mama, after posting a sex tape of her without her permission. In December, he was ordered to pay a steep $17.2 million to Sleek Audio after the company claimed that 50 had stolen its design. 50 has literally been paying big time lately, and now, he's apparently bankrupt. Not that Twitter cares. The platform is lighting up with all sorts of 50 Cent jokes as punny as the one I made earlier.
There's the obvious joke.
Some are trying to calculate how this could be humanly possible.
The event made for some Office humor.
There was the realization that 50 needs more than just $$$.
Some were all, "Move along, nothing to see here."
Others were distraught, but also excited.
Others still had fond memories of 50 in richer times.
There was this R.I.P. roundup.
And then this, which should definitely happen.
You good, 50?
Okay, good.
UPDATE: 7/13 4:20 PM
One of 50 Cent's lawyers has released a statement regarding 50's filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Read the statement below, via Billboard.
"The filing allows Mr. Jackson to reorganize his financial affairs, as he addresses various professional liabilities and takes steps to position the future of his various business interests," says William A. Brewer III, partner at Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors, and counsel to Mr. Jackson, in a statement. "Mr. Jackson’s business interests will continue unaffected in the ordinary course during the pendency of the chapter 11 case. This filing for personal bankruptcy protection permits Mr. Jackson to continue his involvement with various business interests and continue his work as an entertainer, while he pursues an orderly reorganization of his financial affairs."
