Watch Rihanna Close Out the SNL Season With Two Stunning Performances

Rihanna is no stranger to Saturday Night Live. She returned last night for her fifth time to help close out the series' 40th season with a bang. She performed two visually stunning performances to her recent singles "Bitch Better Have My Money" and "American Oxygen."

Ri-Ri was seated in the driver's seat of a stolen car for the first part of her performance of "BBHMM," with cops in full pursuit behind her on green screen and someone's wife tied up in the backseat. The performance successfully transformed Rihanna's lyrics into an intriguing live L.A. Noire-esque set, which later turns into a dance number. Watch above.

The performance for "American Oxygen" was more refined. It featured Rihanna alone on stage boxed in by three giants screens displaying a wide spectrum of images from America's past, including civil-rights marches, riots and the Olympics. The performance was very earnest and somber, which ties in greatly with the tone of the record.
