We reported yesterday that Brian Williams will not be returning to the anchor desk at NBC Nightly News, but will instead take on a breaking news reporting position with MSNBC in August. However, in a new interview with Matt Lauer, Brian apologizes for betraying his viewers' trust and even blames his ego for his actions.
"Looking back, it had to have been ego that made me think I had to be sharper, funnier, quicker than anybody else. Put myself closer to the action, having been at the action in the beginning," he said. [CNN]
