Marc Jacobs Is Heroically Horny
Earlier this month, designer and eternal hot boy Marc Jacobs showed his ass—literally—by way of accidentally uploading a photograph to his Instagram feed that he intended to send as a private message.
When called on it by a follower, Jacobs did not deny the mistake, explaining: “Yeah. I accidentally posted a pic of my bare ass and took it down. I was flirting with someone I met on Instagram. Meant to send it by DM. Oops, my mistake. I apologize to anyone it offended. I'm a gay man. I flirt and chat with guys online sometimes. BIG DEAL!"
Considering Jacobs has posed naked for his own perfume ad, it’s not as if he’s shy with his body.
Jacobs indirectly confirmed another error in the process, though. Jacobs infamously once said, "I am so appalled by the whole social media thing. I don't get it, it doesn't appeal to me, neither does a computer, or working on a laptop.” He also added, “I am just not of that generation. I get the allure of it, but it just doesn't appeal to me."
It’s nice to see the fashion icon come to appreciate the value of social media, one thirst trap at a time. Jacobs doesn’t know it and may not even give a decimeter of a damn, but I increasingly appreciate him. I tend to only buy his stuff if it’s listed on sale on Gilt, but what I lack in monetary support I make up for in appreciation for his candor.
Last fall, Jacobs did an interview with Paper magazine and offered a refreshing bluntness when it came to his personal life. There, he revealed that he signed up for the app Grindr with his ex-boyfriend, a former Brazilian porn star named Harry Louis. On his experience, Jacobs said, "I went on Grindr a couple of times. Well, actually, with Harry he was like, 'Let's do a profile on Grindr.' And I did, and I met a couple people."
He did not crop his head out either. "Why not! I don't have any hang-ups about those kinds of things," he added. "I don't really care. Who's kidding who? I've talked about having hair transplants, I've talked about my drug problems, I've talked about my drinking problems, I've talked about sex. I just think it's so much better to sort of be honest about those things. I always find it very dubious and I don't really trust people who deny human instincts."
It is Jacobs’ refusal to “deny human instincts” in public spaces that makes him all the more endearing to me.
Of course, as a man, he enjoys certain privileges. He’ll never be stigmatized for expressing his sexuality the way a famous woman would be. Even so, a lot of gay men have stigmas about using “hook-up apps” and are shy about acknowledging their use of them. Likewise, many people in general have uneasiness about their “nudes” and there’s a sensationalism always attached to them if they find their way in an open platform. You can be judged. You can be ridiculed. You can be considered a whore for basically doing something commonplace but not often spoken of.
Jacobs is essentially an honest THOT. I say THOT as a compliment. He may be sending your man shots of ass cheeks on Instagram (at 52, yet another reason to salute him). He may be on Grindr with his face for all to see, looking for fun or “friends” or whatever else one can find there (you’d be surprised). Whatever he’s doing, he’ll fess up to it if called on it.
My hero.
