La La Anthony and Anthony Anderson Will Host VH1's 2nd Annual 'Dear Mama: An Event to Honor Moms' Special
Mothers make such big sacrifices for their kids, its seems unfair that there's only one day to honor them. That's why it's only right that on Mother's Day, we go all out to celebrate the matriarchs that laid the foundation. This year, VH1 is back with the second installment of our Dear Mama special - a celebration of our favorite stars and their moms who gave them the blueprint. So who can we expect to see hit the stage this year?
To kick off this year's special, Dear Mama: An Event to Honor Moms, we're pulling back the curtain on this year's hosts. TV personality La La Anthony, along with returning host and Black-ish star Anthony Anderson will be the dynamic emcees of the event. This will be La La's first time handling host duties at Dear Mama, but we all know she knows her way around a stage. The cast member of the STARZ Network hit series POWER has enjoyed a career that has crossed several genres, including producing Broadway, a burgeoning film career, best-selling New York Times author and former radio personality. Meanwhile, Anderson is of course no stranger to hosting gigs. He also hosts To Tell the Truth and Animal Nation with Anthony Anderson.
The star-studded event will premiere on Monday, May 8 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. All the amazing fun will take place at the famed Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in Pasadena, California.
We know you're dying to know which mother-child duo will grace the stage this year. We'll unveil the deets very soon. Trust us, you're going to love it.
Catch the show when it airs on May 8th at 10pm and stay locked into VH1.com for the list of honorees to be announced real soon.
One of our favorite moments from last year's show was when Will Smith told the world about how son Jaden was conceived.
