You're Gonna Put Your Thing Down, Flip It, and Reverse It When You Find Out Who is Hosting and Performing at VH1's 'Hip Hop Honors'

This announcement will make you lose control!

VH1's Hip Hop Honors: The 90's Game Changers is about to get crazy y'all! We already knew that Martin Lawrence was going to be bringing the laughs as one of the evening's honorees, but now we've been blessed with another comedian for a host! That's right: Regina Hall is about to get this epic '90s block party started with her comedy chops and adoration for everything '90s.

Of course you recognize Hall from her latest film, Girls Trip, but remember back when she was playing Brenda Meeks in the Scary Movie franchise? Not to mention her roles in films like The Best Man and Love and Basketball, where she played opposite close friend Sanaa Lathan. Hall's list of credits also include her recurring television role as Corretta Lipp, on the prime-time drama Ally McBeal. She is currently shooting The Hate U Give for Fox 2000.

And that's not all, folks!

After being honored as a pioneering woman in hip-hop last year, Missy Elliott is back to open the show with a one-of-a-kind tribute to the legendary decade.

Missy Elliott is the very definition of a '90s game changer. Rising to worldwide fame in the '90s, Elliott has achieved and maintained success over three decades. She's a critically acclaimed, five time Grammy Award-winning producer/songwriter/singer/rapper and she has sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Not to mention the fact that all six of Elliott's studio albums have been RIAA platinum certified or better, making her the only female rapper to have achieved this. Say it with me one more time: Game. Changer.

The show airs on September 18th at 9PM ET/PT, so I hope you're ready to party.

While you wait for September 18th, check out last year's tribute to Missy Elliott. Remy Ma, Nelly Furtado, Eve and Trina performed a medley of 'Work It,' 'Get Ur Freak On,' 'Hot Boyz,' 'One Minute Man,' 'Lose Control' and 'WTF' alongside dancers to tribute the powerhouse that is Missy.
