Let's be honest, usually when your significant other decides that they don't want to be so significant anymore, your response is something like this:
Then there's the crying and the eating of the ice cream and the drinking too much wine and the calling of the ex to cry/scream, "YOU DON'T DESERVE ME, I'M A CATCH...but take me back, please?" It's all very messy.
But that's not what happened many moons ago when John Legend tried to break up with Chrissy Teigen. The key word here is tried. In an interview with The Guardian, John opened up about what it's like to be married and raise a child in the public eye. The pair wed in 2013 and have been together for a decade, but there was a time that John thought he wasn't ready for a relationship. When he said as much to his now-wife, she (naturally) gave the best response:
“I was really stressed and busy,” he said in the interview. “I was just like: ‘I’d just be happier single right now,’ and she was like: ‘No.’”
Chrissy Effin' Teigen straight up told John, "No." Why the hell haven't we thought of this? And she still clearly finds it all very amusing.
As if she wasn't relatable and iconic AF before, Ms. Teigen has done it again:
I just can't get over the fact that Chrissy pulled a move that we've all wanted to pull at some point in our lives and got away with it. I am glad it worked out, otherwise I wouldn't be able to openly obsess over their love.
