You probably know Jeff and Eric Rosenthal as the hip hop sketch comedy duo ItsTheReal who, over the years, have developed a strong online following for their LOL-beckoning skits and artist interviews. But in hip hop media circles, they have some serious cred as well; with a collection of bylines from major music and culture outlets and numerous rappers on speed-dial, the two brothers aren't new to the rap-game rodeo.
After their videos landed them gigs with MTV.com and the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, the duo recently decided to hop a fence for grass that, from a fan perspective, very often seems the greenest: they became rappers. Kinda.
On April Fool's Day, ItsTheReal dropped Urbane Outfitters Vol. 1, the first of a two-part comedy rap mixtape series that features verses from Maino, Bun B, and Freeway, and is hosted by DJ Drama.
