The outcome is Lion Babe, a dynamic duo ready to introduce the world to their fearless brand of R&B and creative expression.

WHO is Lion Babe?

Lion Babe consists of vocalist Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman. The two met through mutual friends, and didn’t begin working with one another musically until years later. After their song “Treat Me Like Fire” garnered a sizable buzz online, a deal with Interscope Records soon followed. Jillian is no stranger to the world of entertainment, her mother is actress/singer/former Miss America winner, Vanessa Williams.

WHAT is their album?

Their self-titled EP was released back in December, and a full-length project is supposed to see the light of the day sometime this year. They have already hit the studio with Pharrell , Mark Ronson, Jeff Basker and Dave Sitek from TV on the Radio.

Grand Theft Auto V fans may have heard their song, “Treat Me Like Fire” as part of the in-game soundtrack. Their faces have graced the pages of various publications such as Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Teen Vogue just to name a few.

WHEN can you see them live?

Lion Babe wrapped up 2014 as openers for The Roots on a short West Coast stint. They mostly play shows in the New York City area, but are due to hit the United Kingdom in May. Keep a close eye on their website for new info regarding other shows down the road.

Guys like Pharrell, Mark Ronson and Q-Tip don’t just work with anybody, so obviously this musical union possesses an incredibly unique talent. Don’t get us wrong, experimental R&B is available if you dig deep enough to find it. But Lion Babe have the rare opportunity of cutting cut through to the mainstream, a feat seldom accomplished by this style of R&B.
