Who The Hell Is…Lion Babe?

Read on to find out.

What do you get when you take a fearless vocalist with an affinity for Erykah Badu and The Beatles, and pair her up with an experimental producer influenced by the likes of Timbaland and J Dilla? The outcome is Lion Babe, a dynamic duo ready to introduce the world to their fearless brand of R&B and creative expression.

WHO is Lion Babe?

Lion Babe consists of vocalist Jillian Hervey and producer Lucas Goodman. The two met through mutual friends, and didn’t begin working with one another musically until years later. After their song “Treat Me Like Fire” garnered a sizable buzz online, a deal with Interscope Records soon followed. Jillian is no stranger to the world of entertainment, her mother is actress/singer/former Miss America winner, Vanessa Williams.

WHY should you care?

Guys like Pharrell, Mark Ronson and Q-Tip don’t just work with anybody, so obviously this musical union possesses an incredibly unique talent. Don’t get us wrong, experimental R&B is available if you dig deep enough to find it. But Lion Babe have the rare opportunity of cutting cut through to the mainstream, a feat seldom accomplished by this style of R&B. We fully expect Lion Babe to attract legions of fans, as well as dominate the music festival circuit for years to come.
