Why is Beyoncé Mixed Up in a Dispute Between Drake and Houston Stripper Maliah Michel?

Why y'all love to drag Bey into everything?

There's a lot to appreciate about the great city of Houston: it's the home of Beyoncé, great barbecue...and strippers. Blessed strippers. Exhibit A: Maliah Michel.

Drake, who references the great city of Houston often in his music, kicked off his fourth annual Houston Appreciation Week over the weekend and threw a retirement ceremony for three of the most seasoned Houston strippers in the game: Lira Galore, Miracle Watts and Maliah Michel.

Lira and Miracle both appreciated Drake's congratulatory humor since they, like our girl Cardi B, have graduated from the stage. Maliah, however, was far from amused. Why? She's still dancing and proud of it.

"Contrary to 'social media news' no man can retire me," Michel wrote under a promo flyer on Instagram. "I'm shaking this azz into a wheel chair. Maliah will retire Maliah."

To elaborate on her initial Instagram response, Maliah fired off a series of tweets explaining her anger at Drake. "Y'all don't know [Drake] been trying to make me stop dancing. Always putting me down about it," she tweeted. "Always telling me I'm not better than anyone else in the club selling ass instead of dancing. But n--ga can't stay out the club."

Maliah says she once argued to Drake that Houston's sweetheart Beyoncé has worn provocative outfits just like hers.

Drake's response?

What really tickled folks on the internet was not so much Maliah's rant, but the idea of Drake chastising his stripper ex for daring to compare herself to Queen Bey.

Before the ceremony fiasco even popped off, Drake dated Michel briefly after dropping her name on the song 'Miss Me." He also hand-picked the curvy dancer as his love interest for the "Find Your Love" video.

Sorry Drake! Looks like you spoke too soon on this one. But you could show up to Maliah's next gig with a couple of "I'm sorry" racks! Just a thought.
