Retro GIF Booth: Looking Back At TLC's 5 Best Videos

TLC's twenty year career is one that spans across MTV's entire video area. From the very beginnings ("Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg") when the network just found its footing and become the go-to network as a way to discover new music to the height of music videos ("Waterfalls") when budgets went through the rough as did the special effects and scale and finally, to a time ("No Scrubs") when T.R.L. controlled what was hot and what was not. These are TLC's five best videos brought to you in GIF form.

Kicking things off is TLC's first video and single, "Ain't 2 Proud 2 Beg," that introduced fans to the trio soon to be taking over R&B. The video was fun, funky, and relaxed - the very definition of TLC at the time - and would later serve as inspiration for Usher's "My Way" and Kanye West's "Good Time." (Okay, that may not be entirely true, but the visual aesthetic is there.)

While the song promoted the idea of sexually confident women, it also took the time to promote safe sex - something that would resurface later in their career.

Wooh! And I'm back. For the first video from their sophomore album, CrazySexyCool, the girls wanted to introduce a new look and feel for the trio. In "Creep," a song about creepin' on a man who has cheated on her, they definitely did just that.

Left Eye brought the Crazy.

Chilli brought the Sexy.

T-Boz brought the Cool.

Making a special appearance in the video was T-Boz's underboob, before underboob was a thing.

At the time, "Waterfalls" was monumental for directly speaking on issues related to AIDS and drug problems plaguing urban America. The group's video even showcased those moments - a powerful visual for MTV fans. But the most memorable thing from the video was the water morphing. The groundbreaking technology pushed the video into iconic status.

Fin.

After a four year hiatus, TLC announced their return with "No Scrubs." This video had everything...

A Chilli, an agreeable Left Eye and a redheaded T-Boz.

Girls confidently wagging their fingers.

Space square-offs.

Robotic dancing in sexy space suits.

Spiritual guidance.

Free-standing tanning booths (just be careful not to burn your fingers).

Swings that only go halfway.

Enough visual "Scream" references to make your ears bleed.

And lots of TLC (s)ass.
