Checkmate! Cardi B Quickly Humbled Azealia Banks After Being Called "A Poor Man's Nicki Minaj"
When you're out here flourishing and living your absolute best life, people come out of the woodwork to step on your shine. Azealia Banks certainly tried it but Cardi B clapped back with the most high-class response ever.
Several rappers such as J. Cole, Missy Elliott, and Pusha T to name a few immediately congratulated Cardi for making herstory for rocketing to that number one spot on Billboard with her single "Bodak Yellow." It doesn't come as a shock that on the heels of Cardi's monumental moment, unpopular-opinionated rapper Azaelia Banks made it clear that she is not a fan of this rising star.
It all started when a bitter Banks dubbed Cardi B "a poor man's Nicki Minaj." In several tweets and deletes from an alternate account (her previous Twitter account was shut down for pulling similar trolling s---t), Banks stated that she is disappointed because she "wanted a spicy Latina" and expressed that "[Cardi's] only black when black want to include themselves in a success story." From her backup page, Banks continued to slam the Trinidadian and Dominican rapper by saying,
I’m sorry. Black industry men are too hype for this Latina girl I’ve never seen them jump like this for Remy [Ma] or Nicki [Minaj]."
Cardi wasn't playing with that girl however, instead of getting angry, Cardi delivered a clever clapback via Twitter.

Azealia, that's you right? Boppin' kind of hard there, sis. Cardi's sister Hennessy jumped in on the dragging to remind Banks that she's been a fan with a screen-capture of a July interview with XXL where Banks previously praised Bardi.
Hennessy since deleted the post but originally captioned,

Not everyone is a narcissistic hater. Although Cardi dislodged Taylor Swift from peaking on Billboard's Top 100, the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer sent this no longer regular-degular girl a beautiful assortment of flowers.
