Move Over Kanye + Wiz: Drake and Meek Mill Broke Twitter With New Diss Tracks
Drake vs Meek Mill round two has begun and it's way better than the first. A day after the Kanye West and Wiz Khlaifa tweet beef calmed down with a sort-of apology, the 6 God released a new diss track towards Meek on his OVO Sound Beats 1 show.
The new single "Summer Sixteen" is riddled with shade. "I let the diss record drop, you were standing right below me, n*gga / We must have played it a hundred times, you was going to bed," Drake raps. "Why would I put on a vest I expect you to aim for the head / I coulda killed you the first time / You don't have to try and say it louder n*gga / Trust, we heard you the first time."
Listen to the song here. Drake even threw a subtle shot at Kanye West. He raps, "Now, I got a house in LA. Now, I got a bigger pool than 'Ye / And look man, 'Ye's pool is nice, mine is just is bigger is what I'm sayin'." I wonder how Ye will react, but first Meek Mill.
Soon after Drake premiered "Summer Sixteen," Meek Mill had his rebuttal all ready to go: Another new surprise EP – this time titled 4/4 Pt. 2 – featuring another Drake diss track, this one called "War Pain." Even more unexpected was the fact that Mill's new song already featured responses to lines Drake had just premiered a half-hour earlier. Suspicious indeed.
In response to the Drake lines above Meek raps, "And you claiming you Hov now? Why you state that sh*t?/Man I hate that sh*t, n*ggas be talkin' out they face / But soon as you body somethin' they be singin' like they Drake / Wait, n*ggas dancin' like they fruitcakes / Hotline Bling, don't get no bing up in this new Wraith." Listen here.
While we all spent last night night diving into conspiracy theories about how Meek knew what Drake was going say in Summer Sixteen, but the Philly rapper jokingly answered the question for us. He captioned a photo on Instagram stating, "The ghost writer told me!" Drake it seems you have a trainer in your midst.
In addition to restarting their feud, Drake also announced on his OVO Sound show that his long-awaited Views From the 6 would arrive in April, Meek is in preparation of dropping Dreamchasers 4, and I think this beef is far from over. Who do you think won this round? Let us know in the comments below.
