Australia Is Threatening to Kill Johnny Depp's Dogs

This story is crazy and involves dogs in peril, so read at your own risk.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are in Australia right now while Depp films the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, Dead Men Tell No Tales. They flew their dogs, Boo and Pistol, over via private jet, and didn't have the dogs go through customs or do a 10-day quarantine, something required in the country to prevent infection.

Should they have followed the rules? Absolutely. Celebrities, despite all the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, are not above the law. But now, if Depp and Heard don't send them back to the States, the dogs face being put down.

Australian Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce said, "If we start letting movie stars even though they've been the 'Sexiest Man Alive' twice to come into our nation, then why don't we just break the laws for everybody? It's time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States."

An online petition has been started begging Joyce to save the dogs. As of writing this post, the petition has more than 9,700 signatures.

Should Boo and Pistol suffer because Depp and Heard didn't follow the rules?

Update 5/15: Boo and Pistol are safe, sound and will survive! They are heading back to the states on a private jet. They deserve a little luxury after the week they've had.

Update 5/26: Depp and Heard now face 10 years in prison or a fine of $340,000 for bringing the dogs into Australia illegally.
