Khaotic, Young Hollywood and Joy Discuss Gun Violence and Mental Health in This 'Love & Hip Hop Miami' Sneak Peek
In this Love & Hip Hop Miami sneak peek, Joy, Young Hollywood and Khaotic get real about the things affecting them and their community, namely gun violence and mental health.
While talking about Khaotic's legal troubles, he explains to Young Hollywood and Joy that he wasn't trying to evade police in a high-speed chase, he was actually unaware that the car following him was a police vehicle. Without any markings on the car, Khaotic experienced some PTSD from being shot at on two different occasions after someone followed his car and then riddled it with bullets. He admits that he is going to go seek help from a professional.
Joy and Young Hollywood empathize with what Khaotic is going through. They each know friends and loved ones who have been shot and even killed in senseless acts of violence. They also acknowledge that it's much more than the physical act of getting shot that affects people, it's the mental aftershocks as well.
Young Hollywood tells the two, "Mental health is just like another sickness or disease. A lot of people don't treat it like that, but it's real." And from there, the three hatch a plan to create an event that can bring those who have suffered at the hands of gun violence and give them a platform to tell their story.
See them put together the event when you watch Love & Hip Hop Miami on Mondays at 9/8c.
