Everyone Says They're Tired of the Kardashian-Jenners, So Why the Hell Are We Still Talking About Them?

Fox 35 News Anchor John Brown realized about a week ago that he couldn't bear to keep up with the Kardashian-Jenners any longer. So, when a fellow anchor brought up the fact that Kylie Jenner had curiously named her pet rabbit Bruce, her father's name prior to his transition to become Caitlyn, John walked off of the set. He became a hero to many in that moment because he expressed something many of us have been experiencing for some time: Kardashian-Jenner overload.

People are over the Kardashian-Jenners, especially after last week. Kylie turned 18, Kris posed for a picture with Hillary Clinton, ex-husband Lamar Odom ambushed Khloe, and Kim got naked on Instagram. These events made for "news," which flooded the Internet, which caused a ruckus on Twitter, where Perez Hilton called for a detox.

We, the media, have reached a point where anything the Kardashian-Jenners do is worth an article, even if there isn't much to say about it. You, the reader, are probably just as tired of hearing about the Kardashian-Jenners as I am writing about them. But the reason outlets continue to keep tabs on this family despite being exhausted by them is that people read the articles.

Readers, who aren't necessarily even Kardashian-Jenner fans, want to know what the hell this family is up to while simultaneously being "over" them.

We—as in you and I—are over this family and their woes. We are tired of seeing Kim naked. We are disgusted at how each other talks about Kylie and Tyga's creepy relationship. And yet we can't look away, which makes it all the more confusing for us. We are both worn out from keeping up with this family and not yet ready to stop keeping up with them. Why?

Maybe it's because they're all gorgeous and rich as hell. It could be the fact that they're ultimately getting paid to just be themselves, and that's a life goal for many. Some people love the drama of it all—Kim's cry faces, whatever is going on with Rob, etc. This family (and E!) continues to find new angles to spin on the events that unfold in their lives. Say what you want about it all being a ploy to increase viewership and get Kris her 10 percent; at the end of the day, it is reality TV. Not everything is planned.

For me, the fact that the Kardashian-Jenners are as dramatic—if not more dramatic—than my own family is enough to hold my interest. I'm invested in how the sisters interact with one another, how they handle Caitlyn's new beginning, and how the family as a whole deals with each others' differences. If you aren't willing to give them credit for anything else, at least acknowledge how amazing it is that they cannot be broken by anyone, especially not each other.

Whatever originally caught your attention about this family doesn't seem to have faded. The interest is still there, and that means that—whether you like it or not—the media is going to continue to cover them. So what should we do in the meantime?
