Can We Just Take a Moment to Thank Brooke Valentine for Blessing Us With "Girlfight" Back in the Day?

That was the old her, though. This "recovering ratchet" ain't about that life anymore.

Brooke Valentine is a changed woman, so she's not about that life anymore, but if you were back in the day then you definitely caught yourself singing her song like it was your life's anthem whenever a trick tried you.

Back in 2005, this young Texan peaked on music charts with her hit single, "Girlfight" featuring the Lil' Jon and Big Boi. Since then she's released singles such as "Don't Wanna Be In Love" and "Forever," but "Girlfight" will always be dubbed a "bout that life" theme song. She wasn't playing then, and she's definitely not playing now especially when it comes to her man Marcus Black. Brooke describes herself as a "recovering ratchet" so she's not throwing them bows or swanging them thangs anymore thanks to hella anger management. She was originally casted in season one but may have been too 'bout it for Mona at that time but you will get to learn a lot more about Brooke on this season of Love & Hip Hop Hollywood. In the mean time, take a trip down memory lane 'cause it's about to be a what??!?

Catch up with Brooke each and every Monday on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood on 8/7c!

In this Love & Hip Hop Hollywood web exclusive, Brooke explains what she's been up to since releasing that record.
