All The Ways That Beyoncé Was The Queen Of 2014
Over a year has passed since Beyoncé dropped her surprise album, but the world still isn't over it. From her show-stopping performance at this year's Grammys to keeping her relationship with Jay Z together despite all the rumors, Beyoncé owned the entire year. Raise a glass to the Queen and read on to find out all the ways she reigned supreme in 2014!
Blogger and YouTube personality Randy Rainbow pretty much summed up the year in Bey when he "pretended" to drunk dial the Queen herself. Watch his video below.

She owned the 2014 Grammys despite not even being nominated.
Remember when Bey performed "Drunk In Love" with her hubby at the Grammy Awards at the beginning of the year? She proceeded to steal the show, not because she won any awards -- don't worry, she's nominated six times this year -- but because she's Bey and she doesn't need awards to prove she's winning. Let's also recall the time Jay referred to the mother of his daughter as a "young lady," but Bey wasn't phased because it's Bey and nothing phases her.
The Beygency kept her Instagram game 100.
Bey's Instagram was on point all year. She had her Beygency posting pictures of her on the "On The Run" tour, posing with Mona Lisa in Paris, and just being the 8th wonder of the world that she is.
Her MTV VMA Video Vanguard medley.
Time stood still for Bey's 16-minute performance at the VMAs, and yet, it all went by way too fast. She laugh-giggled during "Drunk In Love," she cried when Jay Z and Blue Ivy presented her with the Video Vanguard award, and she stood powerfully on stage in front of the word "Feminist." In other words, she gave the people what they wanted and more.
She kept the elevator incident on lock down AND did a remix with Nicki Minaj about it.
What the hell happened between Solange and Jay in that elevator? We don't know because that's how Bey wants it to be, and it will therefore continue to be that way for all of eternity. However, Bey did manage to divert our eyes from the video footage of her sister flipping out on her husband by teaming up with Nicki Minaj for a remix of "Flawless." The remix, aka PR overhaul, worked its magic, and instead of questioning her, we gave praise to Beysus for blessing us with such an amazing gift.
"Flawless" and "Surfboard" became 2014 buzz words.
How does Beyoncé wake up every morning of her life? Flawless. What transports her from the mortal realm to that planet that God created especially for her where she sits on her throne all day and eats vegan cupcakes? Her surfboard. Bey single-handedly stamped these two words all over the zeitgeist, making them a regular part of this year's vocabulary.
The Beyoncé Platinum Edition Box Set.
Her 2013 self-titled album owned 2014, but that wasn't enough for the Queen. She put out a Platinum Edition of the album, which includes the 2013 album, a live performance DVD, a photo booklet, a 2015 mini calendar, two new tracks, and remixes by Kanye West, Pharrell, Nicki Minaj, and Mr. Vegas. And along with "7/11," came 15 new shades of Bey.
HBO did a series about the On the Run Tour.
HBO kept up with Bey and Jay during their On the Run Tour, giving us all an "official view into the world of Beyoncé." Beyoncé and Jay Z On the Run came out in September and features the couple in action, performing 40 songs together in Paris.
She and her king met Britain's Royal Couple.
Kate Middleton and Prince William came to New York City under the pretense of raising awareness about wildlife conservation and its supposed relationship with basketball, but we all know they just really wanted to meet Bey and Jay. American royalty and British royalty kicked it courtside at the Brooklyn Nets game, and that's the story of how they became besties for life.
Her shared moment with Taylor Swift.
Remember when Bey let TSwizzle finish her speech at the 2009 VMAs? The two recently shared another beautiful moment together at a Justin Timberlake concert when Jay Z took the stage to perform "Holy Grail" with Justin. Taylor turned around to dance-sing the song to Beyoncé, who seemed amused at the whole scene.
She had mini bangs.
For a brief moment in time, Bey had mini bangs. And then the hair gods came to her in a revelation and she decided she didn't want them anymore. Bye bye, mini bangs.
