Tom Hardy Shuts Down a Journalist Who Asks About His Sexuality + More News to Wake You Up This Monday
Tom Hardy dismissed a journalist who inquired about his sexuality at a press conference for Legend at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday. And it was, erm, awkward. *Squirming*
"Our question is for Tom Hardy," Daily Xtra reporter Graeme Coleman said. "In the film, your character, Ronnie, is very open about his sexuality. But given interviews you've done in the past, your own sexuality seems a bit more ambiguous. Do you find it hard for celebrities to talk to media about their sexuality?"
Tom was visibly thrown off by this question. "What on Earth are you on about?" he asked, which made people in the audience chuckle.
"I was referring to an interview given to Attitude magazine a few years ago," Graeme replied.
But Tom still didn't thaw. "But what is your question?" he said. Graeme restated, "I was wondering if you find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality."
"I don't find it difficult for celebrities to talk about their sexuality," Tom said matter-of-factly. "Are you asking me about my sexuality?"
With an air of hesitation, Mr. Coleman responded, "Um, sure."
"Why?" the actor prompted.
"Um…" Graeme said, metaphorically drowning.
And then Sir Hardy swiped away the entire exchange with a simple, "Thank you." BOOM.
