6 Incredible Times Amy Schumer Clapped Back at Trolls
Amy Schumer is a flaw-free deity for several reasons. She's hilarious, talented and beautiful, of course. But most importantly she claps back at her haters like no one's business. And we're here for it each and every time.
These six clapbacks are the most satisfying. Soak them in, and remember these the next time a f--kboy tries to mess with you!
The time she didn't let Instagram haters ruin her vacation.
The Trainwreck star had some choice words for people who criticized this swimsuit picture. (She looks amazing, by the way, as does every woman who wants to rock a bathing suit!) "...good morning trolls! I hope you find some joy in your lives today in a human interaction and not just in writing unkind things to a stranger you've never met who triggers something in you that makes you feel powerless and alone," she wrote. "This is how I look. I feel happy. I think I look strong and healthy and also like miss trunchbull from Matilda. Kisses!"
The time she had no time for this photo-bombing creep.
During an April Greenville, South Carolina stop on her comedy tour, Schumer had an unpleasant encounter with a fan, who demanded a photo despite declining him several times. The man didn't take no for an answer, telling the 35-year-old funny woman, "No, it's America and we paid for you." Instead of letting this jerk off the hook, Schumer blasted him on Instagram and vowed to never take photos with fans again. She later recanted that, tweeting that she will "with nice people when I choose to if it's a good time for that."
The time a teen movie critic made a sexist joke, and Schumer shut him TF down.
Jackson Murphy, the 17-year-old who runs Lights Camera Jackson, took a photo with Schumer at the 2016 Critics’ Choice Awards and later tweeted, “Spent the night with @amyschumer. Certainly not the first guy to write that.” When Schumer caught wind of this crap, she tweeted back, “I get it. Cause I’m a whore? Glad I took a photo with you. Hi to your dad.” Murphy later apologized, which Schumer accepted. "that's really okay honey," she said. "I just remember thinking you and your dad were sweet and it was a bummer to read that." Bummer is an understatement.
The time she demolished a reporter for asking a rude question.
During the Australian press junket for Trainwreck in July 2015, a snooty male reporter called Schumer's character in the film "skanky." Quick on her feet, Schumer said, "What made you think about your mom? Why did she just pop in your mind?" The dude tried to backtrack, saying, "Come on, that's the character in the movie. I'm not trying to offend you." But the damage was done. "Whatever you are trying to do, you are [doing]," Schumer said. "That's a rude question."
The time she silenced haters who said she stole jokes.
Someone created a video that insinuated Schumer copied her schtick from other comediennes. Her response? Quick and cutting.
The time people came for her Taylor Swift joke, but she wasn't having it.
In February, Schumer posted a photo of herself and fellow comedian Bridget Everett with the caption, "Taylor that's not a thigh gap. This is a thigh gap." (This was seemingly in response to Swift's 2016 Grammys outfit that showcased considerable "normal" thigh gap.) When people pounced on Schumer, the comedian didn't mince words. She posted a photo of herself donning a beard and captioned it,"That's not a beard this is a beard. So sorry to anyone with a beard this may offend. I am a comic and should never make fun of myself at the expense of anyone else that I wasn't making fun of in the first place. #relax #beard." Relax indeed.
Watch Amber Rose honor Schumer at VH1's Big In 2015 with Entertainment Weekly.
