Kanye West Lost Fashion Industry Friends When He Started Dating Kim Kardashian

Kanye West lost friends in the fashion industry when he started dating Kim Kardashian, according to Yeezy's interview with Style.com. "Soon as we started dating, fashion people completely turned their backs on her and me," he told the publication. "They already had their back to her, and now they turned it to me."
The hosts of Big Morning Buzz Live discussed Yeezy's statement, which comes just days before his appearance on The Breakfast Club this morning, when he said he had to take 30 showers after dating Amber Rose to be able to date Kim Kardashian.
Ye's statement to Style.com isn't the only one he's made addressing the difficulties of breaking into the fashion industry as a celebrity. He posted a series of tweets to his Twitter handle this morning addressing Fashion Week Creator Fern Mallis, who recently admitted that she's not a fan of his.
"I'm kind of over Kanye," she said. "I mean, I'm not a fan of his music, and the attitude and the agenda is not my style," Mallis said.
Yeezy waxed philosophical — and inspirational — in his response to Mallis' statement via Twitter.

In the video above, the Big Morning Buzz Live hosts brought up an interesting point. Some fashion industry professionals might have turned Kanye away after learning of his relationship with Kim because not everyone can get past Kim's launching point to fame: her sex tape. Nick Lachey then posed the question of whether or not Kim Kardashian can ultimately transcend her sex tape. Has she already?
Kanye and Kim are polarizing. You either love them or you hate them. Despite the difficulties Kanye has named, both he and Kim have been able to pursue fashion labels. Kim has her Kardashian Kollection and Kanye has his Adidas Originals line. The success of these two clothing lines is questionable, as Kanye received a lot of flack for his Fashion Week show and Kim's line hasn't left Sears, but consider that this might be the beginning for both of their careers in fashion. Can Kanye and Kim transcend their starting points to make it in the fashion industry?
