Hugh Jackman is fresh off an Oscar nomination for his work as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables, but we have a sneaking suspicion he won't be showing off his pipes in his new flick. Instead, his guns will be on full display when he returns to the big screen on July 26 in The Wolverine, which will mark the 5th time that Jackman has portrayed the most famous of the X-Men on screen (X-Men, X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine).

Our friends over at MTV Movies got their hands on this exclusive teaser footage for The Wolverine, and our pal Josh Horowitz was even able to convince Hugh Jackman to give the reel a little intro. We don't know much about the plot of The Wolverine, save for the fact that Wolverine will be making his way to Japan in it, but we do know that this isn't your typical superhero film. Originally developed by Darren Aronofsky and directed by James Mangold, this film definitely has a directorial prestige element to it, and promises to be one of this summer's biggest highlights.
