Remembering The Notorious B.I.G. Through Fashion
It's been 17 years since the death of the Notorious B.I.G. and his influence can still be felt throughout music today. The Brooklyn-born rapper was a colorful storyteller, multi-platinum selling artist and a style innovator, know for his sharp suits and signature Coogi sweaters.
His love of hats, designer shades, canes and crowns has impacted the generations that followed. Whether it's Beyoncé's Biggie trucker hat in her "XO" music video or Justin Bieber finally getting his head on straight and recognizing the rap legends who put what he does to shame, many are copping the same swag Christopher Wallace originated or paying tribute to his legacy through their clothing. Music isn't the only way his memory lives on today and we don't need one day a year to celebrate a legend.
Check out Biggie-infused styles from Queen Bey, Big Sean, Mac Miller and more and think about where the state of sweaters--and Drake's wardrobe--would be had Biggie not embraced Coogi so strongly.
