Selena Gomez: Paul Rudd Had "No Idea Who I Was" Before Making a Movie Together
If you're a Selena Gomez stan, then you know she just wrapped a film with Paul Rudd called The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving, which doesn't have a release date just yet. The movie, based on Jonathan Evison's novel, is sure to deliver the feels, but what is making us feel some type of way now is the fact Paul did not know who Selena was before they started this project. Yup.

"[Paul] had no idea who I was when I did the movie, so that's — that's awesome," Selena told us when we caught up with her last week. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? Is she saying that Paul literally was not aware of her existence before working together? She's a huge star; how on Earth is this possible? In our mind, this is how their first exchange went down:
Selena: Hi, Paul. It's such a pleasure to meet you.
Paul: You too. Um...what did you say your name was again?
Selena: Selena Gomez! "Come & Get It?" Wizard of Waverly Place? "Sprangggg breakkkkk?"
Paul: Doesn't ring a bell. Sorry, kiddo.
We kid, we kid. We're sure there's an explanation for this, or maybe Paul just lives under a rock and doesn't know the names of major celebs. Either way, Selena loved working with Paul and told us that he is "nice" and "takes care of people." In fact, she dished one behind-the-scenes story that is tender AF.
"When we were on set, we were shooting in the freezing cold and it was supposed to be summer in the movie," she said. "And these extras were dressed like it was summer and they were freezing. And [Paul], like, pulled over our heaters and gave it to them and told the whole crew, 'You guys need to make sure that they're taken care of, or we're not 'gonna do anything.'" IRL hero.
Whether or not Selena's quote means what we think it means, we can't wait to see the new film.
