WHO is Sevyn Streeter?

Hailing from Haines City, FL a small city 39 miles outside of Orlando, Sevyn decided at the very young age of nine that singing would be her occupation. She snagged her first recording contract at age 15, and by the time she hit her 20s she was writing for artists such as Alicia Keys, Trey Songz, and K. Michelle to name a few. Chris Brown recognized Streeter's talents early in the game, and signed the beauty to his CBE Entertainmnt in 2012. Her hit single "It Won't Stop," not only put her on the map as a solo artist, but earned her a gold plaque as well.

Sevyn released her debut EP Call Me Crazy, But...  back in 2013, the project debuted at #5 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Streeter just released the video for the lead single "Don't Kill The Fun," the lead single off of her upcoming album due in 2015. WHERE have you seen her before?

Sevyn got her first taste of the music industry as a member of the girl-group TG4. The group was created by Chris Stokes, the engineer behind B2K and Immature. After the TG4 disbanded, Streeter once again found herself in another girl group as a member of Richgirl. Richgirl was the concept of  Rich Harrison, the musical mind behind such hits as Amerie's "1 Thing" & J-Lo's "Get Right." The group released an EP in 2009 and a mixtape in 2011 before going their seperate ways in 2012.

Hit records as both a singer and songwriter aren't easy to come by and Sevyn Streeter has accomplished just that. Although she's been in the industry since a teen, those early years were mainly spent as part of various collectives. Streeter's career as a soloist has just begun, her strong pen game combined with her distinctive look and versatile sound, should make this triple threat a new addition to your 2015 playlist.
