The Trailer for Lee Daniels' New Show 'Star' Has Arrived, and It Looks Epic

Come through, Queen Latifah!

Empire fans, prepare to lose your s--t.

Show creator Lee Daniels has a new drama headed to Fox called Star, and its first star-studded trailer just dropped. From the looks of this two-minute teaser, it's everything you love about Empire plus Queen Latifah. So, in other words, it's bomb AF.

Star revolves around three up-and-coming female singers--Jude Demorest, Ryan Destiny and Brittany O’Grady--as they form a super-group and try to break into the #biz. Latifah plays two of the girls' godmother, who reunites with them after years of searching for them through Social Services. She also serves as the group's metaphorical guardian angel, protecting them when slick music executives (Benjamin Bratt) come sniffing around.

Boasting original songs and an appearance by Lenny Kravitz, Star has all the makings of a cult phenomenon. But will the Empire lightning strike twice? We'll find out when this show debuts on Fox. But, until then, check out the trailer to wet your whistle. (Premiere date is still TBD.)
