All The Times Black Twitter Ripped Music Industry Heads To Shreds In Hilarious Ways

The G-checkers of social media.

Black twitter has no chill when it comes to checking people accordingly— including those in the music industry.

Fortunately, social media has this special group of G-checkers to thank for shedding light on serious matters such as police brutality and prejudice, but also on some straight up hilarious topics like the Meek Mill vs. Drake beef and the liar that is DJ Funk Flex.

It has even been credited for making the best memes social media has ever witnessed.

Check out the times that this dope, internet savvy group was a force to be reckoned with when music industry heads needed to be told to have several seats.

R. Kelly

When Kellz had the smart idea to promote his album Black Panties with the hashtag #AskRKelly on Twitter, everyone came for his child-pornography trial past.

Busta Rhymes

Busta Rhymes let hip hop down a bit when he rapped along a suburban family in a Toyota commercial for a new Sienna (AKA "Swagger Wagon").

Tyga

Drake and Nicki Minaj fans let their fellow YMCMB member Tyga have it when he called Drizzy and the top Barb fake during an interview with VIBE.

Kendrick Lamar

K. Dot had fans in an uproar when he made some rather insensitive remarks on the Michael Brown killing in Ferguson, saying that black people will be respected by other groups when we start respecting ourselves. Huh?

Macklemore

When Macklemore won best rap album at the 2014 Grammys, black twitter wasted no time voicing their dislike on the less-than-deserved win. Macklemore later admitted that Kendrick Lamar should have won instead of him.

Madonna

Madonna has had a few run-ins with black twitter. One of the biggest incidents was when she ignorantly posted photos of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela and Bob Marley's faces wrapped in cord to promote her album Rebel Heart.

Justin Timberlake

Now this guy clearly lost his mind when he thought it was a good idea to wish Madonna a happy birthday by calling her his "ninja" on an Instagram post.

Chingy

Right before Christmas of last year, Chris Brown created a hashtag #ChristmasChallenge and asked people to show their best moves while dancing to Chingy's "Right Thurr."

Chingy was more than happy when he saw this and posted a thank you on his IG to Brown while speaking on the impact the song had not only on himself, but the world. It wasn't long before he was told to have a seat by black twitter though.

Beyonce

Music royalty isn't exempt from Twitter shade. When Beyonce poured a $20,000 bottle of Wine into a pool while filming the "Feeling Myself" video with Nicki Minaj, her hive turned on the queen with a quickness.

Jay Z

Jay Z also caused a stir when he name dropped Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown and Freddie Gray when he was promoting his new Tidal venture. Using the race card to promote yourself isn't gonna rock, fam.

Jay Z + Beyonce

G-checked as a team! Jay Z and Bey even got some heat when a photo of Tidal employees was posted on Bey's site and no people of color were seen.

Iggy Azalea

Accused of culture appropriation, the "Fancy" rapper quickly got checked by not only non-celeb members of black twitter, but famous ones including Azalea Banks and Q. Tip. T.I. has even steps in to defend her a few times as well.

Nicki Minaj

The top Barb was dragged last year when she posted a photo of Malcolm X to promote her song, "Lookin' Ass N***a." Change.org petitions were even made demanding it be taken down. Minaj quickly gave a (half) apology to X's daughter who took issue with the artwork.

Justin Bieber

When videos surfaced of the Biebs using racial slurs with friends and family members, shocked fans didn't shy away from voicing their disappointment. And even though Bieber later said sorry, a lot of damage was already done.

Meek Mill

At the moment, Meek Mill is just a joke on social media. Now embroiled in a feud with Drake, the Philly rapper has yet to respond after Drizzy dropped not one, but TWO diss tracks, "Charged Up" and "Back To Back." Team Drake isn't here for Meek dissing their idol and are blessing his Twitter notifications with shade as we speak.

Funk Flex

It's definitely DJ Funkmaster Flex's fault that Hot 97 felt the wrath that is black twitter earlier this week. Failing to drop a promised Meek Mill response to Drake's diss, shade of the highest proportions were thrown at the once well-respected DJ.
