Lady Gaga's long-awaited follow-up to Born This Way, ARTPOP, won't be out until later this summer, and she's currently recuperating from the hip surgery that forced her to cancel the last leg of her tour. However, as we've all learned by now, she's not the type to rest on her laurels. Enter the Born Brave Bus Tour.
VH1 News caught up with Cynthia Germanotta, the Born This Way Foundation President (and Lady Gaga's mom), recently for a tour of the Born Brave bus. The bus will be traveling nationwide, and are intended to empower youth by connecting them with on-site local, community resources including behavioral and mental health services, school psychologists, mentoring, volunteer opportunities and bullying and suicide prevention resources. While counseling will not be provided on site, youth will be directed to local professional organizations that can provide them with needed services. "[Lady Gaga] was bullied at school, and put into a trashcan by some of her peers," Germanotta revealed to us, which goes a long way towards explaining why Lady Gaga cares so passionately about this cause.
Breedlove, one of Gaga's besties and a Born Brave Bus Ambassador, explained that "This is what will last beyond hit songs and awesome shows."
