Yes, it seems like half of America believed their television sets had crapped out.
If it was intentional, it would have ranked among the most epic large-scale pranks in media history—up there with Orson Wells' War of the Worlds. But rather than being panicked, many folks were just annoyed. Comparisons to weak instagram filters were also rampant.
