10 Celebs We Need to See on 'Dancing with the Stars'

Kanye, put on your dancing shoes.

Let’s be honest, it’s been roughly 19 seasons since Dancing with the Stars has had a really exciting, A-list celebrity cast to fulfill the “star” portion of the title. Still, the upbeat dance competition has managed to capture audiences for years.

DWTS premieres its 21st season on ABC tonight at 8/7c and the latest lineup includes fallen stars, like Paula Deen, as well as singers who peaked in the distant '90s, like Nick Carter, and reality stars we already get plenty of, like Kim Zolciak. To be fair, the celeb cast is actually more star-studded than previous C-list seasons, but it could always be better. Which got us thinking, who are some people that you’d actually tune in to watch on DWTS?

In honor of the premiere, we’ve built our dream list of celebrity cast members. We can’t promise they’ll be good (or that they would ever do DWTS) but at the very least, they’d be bound to keep you entertained.

Donald Trump

Trump should take a break from his personal reality TV show, a.k.a. the GOP debates, and join DWTS instead. If nothing else, his ridiculous campaign has shown his tenacity, his outspoken attitude, and his camera-ready toupee. It’s highly doubtful that he can actually dance, but all of these qualities would make for one very entertaining contestant.

Ellen Degeneres

Ellen is definitely one of the funniest and most lovable women on television. The hilarious talk show host is never hesitant to try new things or bust a move on her show, which makes her a perfect contestant for DWTS. She’d make top three for sure.

Kanye West

After watching Kanye shimmy to the Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” at the 2015 VMAs, we’re confident that Yeezus has some secretly awesome dance moves. Everyone knows that Kanye doesn’t laugh, and he barely smiles but joining DWTS would force him to dance, and we are 100% here for that.

Jimmy Fallon

Just think about every evolution of dance video ever. Need we say more? Jimmy's amazing, dad-like dance moves are always great to watch. Everyone already watches him religiously, why not watch him on DWTS every week?

Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy

These two come as a package deal. If you’ve seen The Heat you know that these two work best together. Sandra and Melissa work off of each other’s vibes so well, they don’t even need the professional dancers to kill it.

Kevin Hart

Kevin never disappoints as an entertainer. As a comic king, he’s not afraid to poke fun at himself or others. Whether he’s a good dancer or he genuinely sucks, there would never be a dull moment with him on the show.

Jane Fonda

Every season needs at least one OG in the business, and Jane would be our top pick. At 77, Jane is snarkier than ever, more stylish than ever, and just continues to be an overall queen. Like everything else in her professional life, she would dominate DWTS.

Channing Tatum

Channing danced his way into every girl’s heart in Step Up back in 2006. Who can forget those intense moves that landed him wifey Jenna Dewan? Since then, the Magic Mike actor has proven he’s a great dancer and he is the definition of eye-candy. We’re not sure why someone didn’t come up with this sooner. We want Channing!

Justin Timberlake

There’s nothing better than a friendly, boy band rivalry. Since Nick Carter will be on this season, why not bring on JT later for an old school NSYNC vs. Backstreet Boys showdown? Our money is on Justin, but both of these studs were once known for their smooth moves, so it could go either way.

Beyoncé

OK, so Bey would clearly win this competition; even if she wasn’t an amazing dancer already, the Bey Hive would stalk the phone lines every week for voting. And frankly, everything is better with Bey, especially reality TV.
