This Jay Z's second time bringing a tragic story to the small screen.

By Jasmine Washington

Jay Z is on a mission to bring Trayvon Martin's story to both the big and small screens.

Hov has reportedly acquired the rights to Suspicion Nation and Rest in Power, two books about the unarmed African-American teenager who was murdered by George Zimmerman in 2012.

Jay Z will be teaming up with The Weinstein Company to create a six part docu-series and a full length narrative film on the teen's life and

controversy surrounding his death.

This isn't Jay Z's first time bringing awareness to social injustice on television. The rapper produced Time: The Kalief Browder Story alongside The Weinstein Company. Currently airing on Spike TV, Time tells the tragic story of Kalief Browder, a New York City teen who spent three years on Riker's Island without ever being convicted of a crime.

Jay Z signed a first-look television and film deal with The Weinstein Company in September.

From an audition, to a pilot shoot, to the Laugh Factory for a few jokes, watch comedian Tiffany Haddish take us on a hilarious LA adventure.
