Sure, some people might be mad that Kendrick Lamar lost the Best Rap Album Grammy Award to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, but the most egregious Grammy snub came during the evening's "In Memoriam" tribute. The Grammy Awards left Slayer's Jeff Hanneman and Iron Maiden's Clive Burr and off of the In Memoriam montage--despite the fact that Hanneman actually won two Grammys!

It's not like the Recording Academy didn't know that Burr, Hanneman and Kraddick had passed away this year. They all appear on the Grammys official website as musicians who have passed away. However, for some reason, none of them appeared in the Grammys In Memoriam montage that aired during last night's broadcast.

Now, it's possible it came down to some sort of production error. Maybe all three were on the same title card that got accidentally deleted by an intern? However, the fact remains that both Hanneman and Burr are big time metal musicians. Hanneman even had been honored with two Grammys. So the question is was the snub unintentional or just the Recording Academy's latest display of blatant snobbery against heavy metal (and Dallas disc jockeys)?

We reached out to That Metal Show's Eddie Trunk to get his take and, as you might guess, he see it as another in a long line of instances when the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences gave metal and its fans the shaft. "It's pathetic," he raged. "Proves once again they just have no clue at all when it comes to rock and metal and they continue to demonstrate it."

Of course, that wasn't the only snafu the Grammys made with their In Memoriam package. Glee star Cory Monteith's last name was misspelled as "Montieth," prompting many angry tweets from upset fans.
