Charlie Murphy Dies at 57 After Battle With Leukemia
Comedian Charlie Murphy has sadly passed away after losing his battle with Leukemia. According to TMZ, he died on Wednesday (April 12) in a NYC hospital after undergoing chemotherapy to fight the disease. He was 57 years old.
The brother of comedy legend Eddie Murphy, made quite the name for himself in Hollywood. Charlie was famous for his appearances on Comedy Central's Chappelle Show, particularly in "Charlie Murphy's True Hollywood Stories" sketches. Who could forget that night he partied with Rick James?
He was credited as a writer for his work on his brother's films Vampire in Brooklyn and Norbit, while also starring in films like Roll Bounce, CB4 and Moving Day. The Brooklyn-born funnyman also appeared in the Adult Swim show Black Jesus and toured with Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and D.L. Hughley on "The Comedy Get Down."
