Could Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Actually Appear on 'Fuller House'?

The Olsen twins returning to the role of Michelle Tanner would make our dreams come true.

When we first learned about Fuller House, the Netflix sequel to Full House, we all assumed the whole cast would return save for one particular set of twins (and I don't mean Nicky and Alex). But in a new interview with Women's Wear Daily, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen actually don't rule it out! It's a miracle, like that time Michelle Tanner recovered from her amnesia!

“We just found out about it today,” said Mary-Kate, during an interview late Tuesday. “I guess we’re going to talk to the creators and see what’s happening.”

They didn't actually know about the reboot until John Stamos announced the news on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, so presumably the rest of the cast thought their return unlikely as well.

“I ran into Bob [Saget] the other day and we didn’t even talk about it,” said Ashley. “I’m shocked I haven’t heard from John [Stamos],” said Mary-Kate. They didn’t rule out participation, but they might check in with their former TV dad first. “I’m going to call [Saget] and get his perspective,” said Ashley.

This is all very exciting; however, I have a question: What are they going to do with both of them? There's only one solution: one returns as Michelle, the other as Greek cousin Melina.

Jodie Sweetin, aka Stephanie Judith Tanner, who will star in Fuller House with Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber, did an interview with EW where she divulged some more plot details. Turns out my wish that death leave poor DJ Tanner alone will not be coming true — DJ is in fact a widow:

It’s based around D.J., Stephanie and Kimmy, so there’s still going to be that really fun dynamic, which I’m looking forward to—Stephanie and Kimmy being arch nemeses, and teaming up to help D.J. [a pregnant, widowed mom of two]. It will be very similar, certainly, to the first Full House, but we’re definitely trying to bring it back as a little more modern take. Stephanie has sort of been the wild world traveler, and I’m looking forward to bringing to life Stephanie as she is today and creating a real backstory for her. She’s a free spirit, and that will be obvious in the character she’s become.

I hope all other spouses who join that family wear protective gear and stay indoors at all times.
