Solange Knowles Admits to Be Afraid In "White Spaces" After Concert Incident
Solange Knowles angrily took to Twitter Friday night to shed light on a concert experience gone bad, and how she feels scared being in "white spaces." The 30-year-old younger sister of Beyoncé, went on the rant after she was told by four white women to sit down while at a Kraftwerk concert in New Orleans with her family.
Solange explains what went down in the beginning of her rant.
"In this moment, I'm just going to share my experience ... So that maybe someone will understand, why many of us don't feel safe in many white spaces," she continued, adding that her family made up just four of approximately 20 black concert goers in the predominantly white audience. Solange also added that black women "don't bring the drama."
She concluded her series of tweets by going back to enjoying the rest of the concert with her family. "Now back to me & my husbands favorite song 'Autobahn'" she wrote. "& not giving a f--- about you lovely ladies so mad this lil black girl having fun."
Fans were quick to jump on the incident and come to Solange's defense after the backlash.
