He was upset that she performed a cover instead of an original song.

ICYMI, this week's episode of SIGNED included a pretty awkward moment that included singer/songwriter M. Rose and The-Dream. It was reminiscent of when one of your parents pulls the good ol' "I'm not mad, I'm disappointed," except The-Dream wasn't about to mince words when it came to just how disappointed he was with M. Rose. Re-watch all of the drama below:

For those of us who are totally rooting for M. Rose, it was painful to watch. When The-Dream asked her how many songs she had written since joining the competition, we were like:

But how did it all impact M. Rose? We caught up with the singer/songwriter from New Jersey and asked her. Her response?

"Well, when he called me out about that, I just felt as though, like, he just sees more potential in me as an artist. He sees me doing better than what I did. He sees me as—he sees more potential in me. He puts me on a higher pedestal than I see myself on. So I felt like he was just putting…he was just pushing me. He knows I can be better than what I put out. So I wasn’t even offended by that. I was like, 'You know what, this is just a lesson learned that I just have to go harder in my writing and I just have to keep writing and be better at what I do and try to be like him. Or better.'"

When we asked her about him being upset that she wasn't writing enough, she told us, "He wanted me to write every day. He was expecting me to have 100 songs. I don’t blame him for that. I feel that he was just pushing me to be great and that’s all it was."

It looks like there's nothing but love where M. Rose is concerned.

Rick Ross makes his point clear after SIGNED contestants Just Brittany and M. Rose have a heated discussion over the use of an MMG song. Make sure to tune in on Wednesdays at 9/8c to see which artist gets SIGNED.
