Bill Cosby Thanks His Celebrity Defenders on Twitter

Bill Cosby has broken his silence. This morning, the comedian took to Twitter to publicly thank Whoopi Goldberg and Jill Scott for countering the rape allegations against him.

Cosby had this to say:

Thank you @MissJillScott, from the Cosby Family. — Bill Cosby (@BillCosby) December 3, 2014

Scott tweeted earlier this month:

@JasBaileyTweets sides with Mr. Cosby? No. I side with substantiated proof when media/society is attempting to destroy a magnificent Legacy — ⭐Jill Scott⭐ (@missjillscott) December 1, 2014

Rape is a despicable, cowardly crime. If you've been raped- plz do NOT shower, go to police IMMEDIATELY, have a rap kit done. GET EVIDENCE. — ⭐Jill Scott⭐ (@missjillscott) December 1, 2014

As for Goldberg, she stated this on The View last month: “Perhaps the police might have believed [the allegation], or the hospital. Don’t you do a kit when you say someone has raped you? … I hope somebody gets to the bottom of this, but I’m going to reserve my judgment because I have a lot of questions, as I said. It’s crazy, but I have a lot of questions, because I know we all have friends who have gone through this.”

Still, Cosby's reputation, and career, continue to decline as more accusers come forward with their story.

Inside Edition's Deborah Norville discussed the Cosby controversy on Big Morning Buzz Live last month:
