Are Justin Timberlake And Janelle Monáe Singing About The Same "Electric Lady"?

Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2 is in stores now and if you buy the deluxe edition of the album, you can get two more JT tracks, "Blindness" and "Electric Lady." Both songs are great, but one of them shares a name with Janelle Monáe's new double album, The Electric Lady. Monae's album also features a song called "Electric Lady" and the coincidence has us asking a lot of questions.

Is the lady actually made of electricity? Wouldn't being in love with a being made of electricity be dangerous? What does this lady have to do with Russian synthpop? WHO IS THIS ELECTRIC LADY?

After carefully analyzing both tracks we think we know who she is...and we think she's the same person!

So, who is Justin's "Electric Lady"? Here's what we know about her. She's:

Also, it's important to know that there are a lot of sparks in Justin's song. So many sparks that I'd actually be worried something might catch fire or that someone could be electrocuted if they were in a pool or lake. Also their "love will never die." Is that supposed to be because the love will never die? Or is it because this song is about a love story between people made out of electricity and robots don't die?

So, we have some answers about this "Electric Lady," but not enough. Does Janelle Monáe have anything to add?

Since Janelle Monáe's entire album is called The Electric Lady, we figured she might have more information on who this person is. And she does! Janelle's "Electric Lady" is:

She can fly you straight to the moon or to the ghettos

Wearing tennis shoes or in flats or in stilettos

Illuminating all that she touches, eye on the sparrow

A modern day Joan of her Arc or Mia Farrow

Classy, sassy, put you in a razzle-dazzy

Her magnetic energy will have you coming home like Lassie"

Oh, good, that's a lot more detail than Justin gave us, and yet, they sound like they could be the same person. I mean, they both have "energy," that's a defining characteristic of an "Electric Lady." Normal women don't have any energy whatsoever.

So, let's say Justin and Janelle's "Electric Lady" are the same person. If so, she certainly gets around. Russian synthpop/new wave band Tesla Boy released a song called "Electric Lady" in 2008 that describes a woman who's a "supernatural type." Singer Elkie Brooks describes her 2005 "Electric Lady" as a "talk about it, walk about it, mesmerizing, hypnotizing lady," which sounds like she could still be Janelle and Justin's girl.

So are people falling in love with beings of energy now? Or maybe this is all a metaphor for a woman being hot and sexy that Janelle Monáe and Justin Timberlake both independently thought would be original, but it's not because their songs came out at the same time?

Whatever is going on with this "Electric Lady" trend, we're on board, but we're hoping that the parties involved keep this girl away from open bodies of water for fear they might die of electrocution. Oh, and we're down with any opportunity to pump up some sweet, weird, sonic-booming Tesla Boy:
