5 Reasons People Love...Paul Rudd!
When people talk about "likability" they are generally talking about whatever lightning in a bottle Admission star Paul Rudd has. The man's got charisma. He's got talent. But he's got some sort of hidden secret as to why people just naturally like watching him.
But why? WHY EXACTLY IS PAUL RUDD SO LIKABLE?
Well, maybe it's not such an inscrutable secret. We think we've stumbled upon five super scientific reasons why people like Paul Rudd.

1) He looks like a Disney Prince
Specifically, Paul Rudd looks like Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid. Why is this important?
First of all, it means Paul Rudd is so attractive he could pass for an unrealistically handsome, artistically rendered representation of perfect male beauty. Just like the Disney Princesses hold women up to an impossible ideal of charm, kindness, courage and beauty, the Disney Princes are basically perfect dudes.
More than that, it's important that he resembles a Disney Prince because Disney Princes are handsome, without being sexually threatening, and they remind adults of the fun they had as a child. Basically, looking at him makes you feel happy and safe like you did when you still believed in the possibility of "Happily Ever After". I mean, I was stressed out the whazoo about 20 minutes ago, but then I spent a few minutes staring at still photographs of Paul Rudd, and my stress level is non-existant.
Looking at Paul Rudd's face is like taking a long bubble bath with a glass of wine and your favorite chill out music on. Essentially, Paul Rudd has a really, really, really nice face.

2) He doesn't take himself too seriously.
Paul Rudd has every right to have his head up his butt. He's half British, classically trained as a theater actor, studied at Oxford University, has appeared numerous times on Broadway to critical acclaim and seems to possess above average intelligence. But you don't really know about any of that stuff, do you? Why? Because Paul Rudd doesn't take himself or any of that super hoity-toity stuff seriously.
When you think of Paul Rudd you think of a goofball who's willing to be as silly as possible for a laugh. He's done this repeatedly in a number of comedies like Knocked Up, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Role Models, I Love You Man, and Our Idiot Brother. Not to mention, he has natural comedy instincts for a man who was never formally trained as a stand up comic or improviser.
Paul Rudd would rather make us happy with his performances than to leave us impressed with his craft...which sets him apart from a lot of his peers. It shows a lack of vanity and, you know, people like that.

3) He was in Clueless.
Clueless is one of those movies that people just love. You bring it up in conversation with strangers and they'll light up and start quoting it back to you. Clueless is also one of those movies known as "cult classic". Meaning, it wasn't necessarily a big hit at the box office, but through video rental and sales, it affected an entire generation or key demographic irrevocably and is held up as a work of art to those particular people.
Other cult classics? Wet Hot American Summer, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Romeo + Juliet, and The Perks of Being A Wallflower
What do all of those films have in common: Paul Rudd was in them. Oh, and in each film, he was a very different character than he was in the last, meaning that Paul Rudd is not only a good actor, but some of his best performances were in sleeper hits that have a strong emotional pull on his audiences.
In other words...we like Paul Rudd simply because he was in Clueless.

4) He seems like a genuinely nice, low-key dude off-screen.
Okay, so that nice, normal, not stuck up looking woman in the photo with Paul Rudd? That's his wife. They've been together for 14 years and have one kid. There's been nary a cheating scandal--or Hollywood hookup--attached to Rudd in the tabloids. There's nothing. I mean, I can't even remember his wife's name and I just looked it up. That doesn't mean she's not memorable or exciting. It means she is cool not being in the spotlight. Why does that reflect well on Paul Rudd?
Well, if Paul Rudd is into a low-key kind of woman, that suggests he's a low-key guy. He doesn't need drama outside of his job. Also, he seems like he has fun with his friends, but not too much fun (if you get what I'm saying) because there's no dirt on him.
Basically, Paul Rudd seems like a happy, but not at all tortured or messed up dude in real life. Who knows if that's the case or not, but what's important is that he projects that lack of drama or self-obsession. We feel like he'd hang out at the local bar with us if we knew him in real life--and his wife seems that way, too! He's very relatable and that's likable.

5) He's Paul Rudd.
Remember up top when I said that Paul Rudd has some sort of secret "lightning in a bottle" that draws people to him and makes us want to be his friend? That is called "star power" or "charisma" or sometimes just "it".
All bonafied movie stars have this intangible quality. It just means a person is so noticeable you never want to stop watching them. You're desperate to know more about them and you can't wait to see what they'll do, say or wear next. It doesn't always mean that someone's likable for their personality traits, but...in the case of Paul Rudd, the two go hand-in-hand.
We would like Paul Rudd simply because he's fun to watch, but we also like Paul Rudd because he projects all the qualities I've listed before. He's nice looking. He's silly. He's been in our favorite films. He seems like a genuinely kind person.
To put it bluntly, we like Paul Rudd because he's Paul Rudd.
