Robin Williams Found Dead At 63

According to police in California, beloved comedic actor Robin Williams was found dead this afternoon. He was 63.

Authorities in Marin County reportedly received a call to the star's residence earlier today. Though an official cause of death has yet to be confirmed, the county's sheriff's office suspects it was suicide by asphyxiation.

An investigation into the death is already underway, which will include a forensic examination scheduled for tomorrow. According to Williams' publicist,  the actor had been battling severe depression as of late. Over the years, Williams has been open about his struggles with sobriety; potentially a cause of his recent depression.

Williams was known for seminal roles in Good Will Hunting, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Aladdin. He was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor three times. He never won but did take home Best-Supporting Actor for his role in Good Will Hunting. His wife released a statement, saying that she is "utterly heartbroken" by the sudden loss.
