'Martin' Star Tommy Ford Dies at 52

It's a sad day.

Tommy Ford, who famously played Tommy Strawn on the '90s hit show Martin has died. He was 52 years old. According to TMZ, Ford had been on life support after an aneurysm ruptured in his abdomen. He was admitted into the hospital on Sunday, but sadly his health had deteriorated everyday since. Ford passed away Wednesday in the Atlanta hospital after his family made the decision to turn off support this afternoon. He was certainly surrounded by loved ones when he passed.

Ford appeared on all five seasons of the series from 1992 to 1997 playing the role as Martin Lawrence's best friend for the entirety of the show. Lawrence showed his support for his onscreen BFF on Twitter earlier today. Tichina Arnold, who played Tommy’s girlfriend "Pamela James" on the series, also issued a statement to PEOPLE “My heart is with the family and I just hope everyone respects their privacy at this time.”

As news of Ford's death spread the entertainment community and the stars he touched were inspired to share their memories and love for him on social media.
