Billy Corgan is never one to shirk from a fight. His sharp tongue lashed out at "faceless posers" in his episode of Playback, and he recently boasted that he would punch Kanye West if he ever dared to interrupt his Grammy moment. So we guess it's not too much of a surprise that Corgan would turn his attention to professional wrestling.

The Smashing Pumpkins frontman has accepted a position with the Tennessee-based TNA Wrestling organization, which produces a weekly show on the Destination America network. Although sadly he won't be participating in the actual wrestling, he will be writing characters and storylines in his role as Senior Producer, Creative and Talent Development.

"Saying I'm humbled and honored by this opportunity to be part of TNA, a world-class wrestling organization, is an understatement and a dream come true," he said in a press statement. "What's great is the entire TNA organization stands in full support of my music life with the Smashing Pumpkins. In return, I'm fully committed to using my 30 years of entertainment experience, along with my deep-rooted passion for pro wrestling, to take on the thrilling challenge of creatively contributing to IMPACT WRESTLING, finding and developing new talent, and working eye-to-eye with the best-of-the-best. For as cultures currently evolve at great speed, so must pro wrestling meet and supersede such expectations to thrive."

He confirmed that the job will be full time, which will hopefully leave him with enough breathing room to continue his music. He's worked in the past with the Resistance Pro group of Chicago, laying the groundwork for a proposed show on AMC. The series never came together, and he parted ways with the company in November.

Can we get a wrestling ballet set to Smashing Pumpkins music, anyone?
