It looks like this conversation is just beginning. Rachel Dolezal, the former NAACP president who has been accused of pretending to be African American, told the Today show this morning, "I identify as black."

And this is something she's been doing since she was 5 years old. "I was drawing self-portraits with the brown crayon instead of the peach crayon, and black curly hair," she said. [Today]
