The one thing we know about Tommie Lee is that she is a fighter.
Tommie's drinking and her behavior became such a cause for concern she was required to meet with a substance abuse expert named Joe in this emotional Love & Hip Hop Atlanta highlight. The common denominator of all of the incidents Tommie seems to get herself into is the alcohol. Tommie explains that in her family, "alcoholism runs deep," and to her this is all "embarrassing." Trying her darnedest not to breakdown, Tommie opens up saying:
I'm shy so sometimes I drink to be a little more social. I don't know, it helped me cope with a lot of things going on in my life. I mean, it's so many things. Even though I have a big family, I don't really have support. To deal with the thoughts of my mom, not liking me, hating me and the stress that I'm going through with my brothers and sisters like how big my heart is and open to everybody-- they don't feel the same way about me so that kinda like, that kinda like hurts. Every time I go through this stuff, it hurts me. I'm not proud of it.
Joe reminds her that help is always available, but to be drunk and hostile around/towards the cast and crew is simply unfair. Tommie apologizes for her aggressiveness and threats made to security. Leaving that scene, the Hennessy had Tommie saying some hurtful things that she now regrets. In order for Tommie to continue being on the show, she needs to put the wine glass down. Although she feels this scarlet letter of alcoholism is ridiculous, Tommie has no problem complying to this rule and vows to prove everyone wrong.
Don't miss an all new Love & Hip Hop Atlanta next Monday at 8/7c!
