If Iggy Azalea Isn't Annoyed at Nick Young's Halloween Costume, I Am For Her

He has some explaining to do!

Why does this irk me so much?

Iggy Azalea's fiancé and Los Angeles Lakers player Nick Young decided to dress up as something, erm, cocky for Halloween this year: God's Gift to Women. To pull off this forward-as-hell get-up, Nick wrapped himself as a literal present—red bow and all—and addressed the ensemble "To: Women/From: God."

I'm not an idiot. The costume is supposed to be funny. It's kitschy, and I'm sure Nick did it with the best intentions. He isn't pushing any type of womanizing agenda, and I know Iggy has nothing to actually raise her eyebrows about. This is harmless.

And yet something about it still annoys me. If I was engaged to a man, I'd be tiffed if he felt the need to assert how hot and wanted he is to the world—even if it is tongue-in-cheek. It's like he's saying, "Yeah, Iggy, I'm with you, but don't you forget how thirsty I make all of these women." My insecurities would flare if my bae did this. Why would he have to promote the message he's God gift's to women? Isn't it enough to be God's gift to me?

It's the shameless bravado that rubs me the wrong way more than anything. Nick is sexy. Walking into a room with him, no matter what, will draw attention. This costume augments that more for no apparent reason and basically sends the message that Iggy is lucky to be with him because he's such a hot commodity. And that's bull. Check yourself, Nick. You're lucky to be with her, too!

I don't know. Maybe I'm just a baby. Am I overreacting to this? How would you feel if your boo wore this costume to a Halloween party? Let me know in the comments below.
