Missy Elliott Will Be Honored at 'VH1 Hip Hop Honors: All Hail the Queens'
We're less than a month away from the return of VH1 Hip Hop Honors, and it is pretty darn exciting. The classic VH1 staple comes back after six years live in New York City July 11 at 9 p.m.; this year's theme is All Hail the Queens, where we'll celebrate the first ladies of rap. You already know Queen Latifah is getting honored, but guess who is also receiving some shine? Missy Elliott!
That's right. Misdemeanor will be honored during this year's VH1 Hip Hop Honors, and it is obvious why. Elliott is a rap powerhouse with six albums and five Grammy Awards to her name. She's sold more than 30 million records in the United States and has a slew of hits that give us eternal life, including "Get Ur Freak On," "One Minute Man" and "Work It."
We can't wait to watch Elliott slay at this year's ceremony.
