Dave Chappelle and John Mayer Perform a Moving Tribute to Charlie Murphy

"Everyone in comedy is heartbroken."

While on tour, John Mayer brought out special guest Dave Chappelle to pay respect to Charlie Murphy. The Chappelle's Show cast member died on Wednesday (April 12) after a battle with leukemia.

While on stage praising Murphy, Dave told the crowd that Mayer's song, "You're Going to Live Forever in Me," always reminded him of his friend. He then asked the crowd to put down their phones and fully embrace Mayer's performance of the song as tribute to the late comedian. "For just a few minutes tonight, let's not take a picture or video, Dave addresses the crowd. "Let's make a memory only we get to have."

Charlie Murphy was commonly known for his work on Chappelle's Show, particularly in “Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories," but don't forget his other classic sketches.
