Former Love & Hip Hop Star Nya Lee Has Converted to the Church of Islam

Former Love & Hip Hop star Nya Lee made headlines recently but not for her usual explosive antics but for her faith. The former stripper turned rapper announced on her Instagram page that she has converted to the Islam faith in a personal message.

Lee wrote, "This has been a personal and private 2 year journey for me and I kept it like that because of the ignorance and scrutiny of today's society and the obvious misjudgment of people saying that I am so called 'non-muslim' material." The musician continued, "I have opened my eyes and been very blessed to find answers and understanding within the Muslim faith..... I'm ready to take my shahadah real soon.... Everyone has the right to choose faith no matter what form or fashion."

After her announcement critics took the comments section to blast the former reality star for her decision. Taking jabs, they wrote, "She doing it cause her new man Muslim and got money," and "She gonna strip wearing that." Ultimately though fans have stepped up with the rapper and said that it's never too late to change your life.
